What to Expect
What You Can Expect When You Visit La Harpe Christian Church on a Sunday Morning...
What time are the services?
Our Encounter services are every Sunday morning at 9:00am. Refreshments are available at our Welcome Center after Encounter and before our Commit classes which begin at 10:30am.
What happens during Encounter service?
We begin worship through music and singing. We sing a mix of hymns and contemporary worship music. Our service includes weekly communion which is open to all believers. Our messages are biblical exposition that focuses on verse-by-verse studies of God's Word.
What's available for children?
For children birth to age two, there is an infant nursery where children are cared for in a safe environment. For children aged three and four, we have a pre-school Encounter service where children learn about God's love at their age and activity level.
For children in kindergarten through fourth grade, PrimeTime is available during the latter part of the service where children learn biblical truths at their age level.
Is there something for older children?
For our junior high and high school students, we have youth groups where older kids can have fun and engage with the truth while developing their faith.
CORE: Our ministry to high school students. Students experience worship, hear a message, and fellowship with other students. CORE meets on Sunday evenings at 5:30 at the church.
D-Group (Discipleship Group): D-Group is for students who want to equip themselves to know their faith and to continue to share that faith with others. D-Group meets Tuesday nights at 7:00pm at the church.
Cornerstone: Our ministry to 7th and 8th graders. Junior high students meet at the church at 6:30pm at the church for a time of fellowship and worship.
Will I be asked to give money?
As our guest, please do not feel any obligation to give. We believe giving is an act of worship for those who have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ and have a desire to support our local congregation.
